The Professor Hong-Chul Lim who is one of the top authority for the artificial joint surgery has held the Live Symposium for Unicompartmental Knee Replacement, UKR which took center stage in Korean societies in order to make public his knowhow last June, 2013.
The Live Symposium was broadcasted live in JW Marriott Hotel in Seoul and Lotte Hotel in Pusan. And everyone could watch the real-time video on the internet. The Live Symposium was not 1:1 connection but multi-channel live broadcasting, therefore there were lots of spot light and attention from most medical societies in Korea.
The surgery, Unicompartmental Knee Replacement, was the partial insertion of artificial joint to save the connatural functions of the patient’s knee joint. The surgery has been the focus of effectible surgery that leaves a small size of scar with the minimized incision part.
